Children’s Wallpaper - Whimsical Designs

In my typical home in Chicago, I have two pretty typical children. Like most parents we fight and fight and bribe in order to correct our children and keep their rooms clean. Most of the time, what usually happens in my house is, I break down and wind up taking care of it yourself. This happens a lot, as I them involved in decorating their rooms. Our first project involved the walls.

Research shows that what drives parents crazy are kids who neglect their rooms. Psychologists suggest that if children help design their own environment they will appreciate them more and tend to take great care of them.

Many parents and children are searching for the perfect back drop. More and more companies see a niche market and keying in and creating more lines just for children's rooms.

Origin in children's wallpaper began around 1870 and continues today. Since their inception, background designs were heavily influenced by literature and pop kulture.Najraniji works have strong religious and moral overtones. Later in the 19th century have seen more wallpaper designs stressing the importance of good behavior. In the 20th century wallpaper has become lighter in tone and have more interesting content. The works were produced to illustrate favorite literature, nursery rhymes, comic characters and works of fiction.
